The Very Nice Box will appeal to readers who enjoy satire and social critiques -- if those are not things you enjoy, the humor may not land with you and this would have the potential to be a rather weird read. I think the cover may actually be too eccentric for the story -- at first glance, I thought this was a non-fiction self help book about home improvement. If it wasn't for Bookish First, I probably would have glanced right past it without reading on. After reading the first few chapters, I do get how the cover fits the story, I'm just not sure that it is the best direction for the book as a whole.
