If you're old enough to remember the movie Waterworld, this book has a similar concept but as most books are better than the movie, this did not disappoint. Imagine a world covered in water and the adventures you'd embark on as you try to survive. This book is told in the eyes of 17 year old Tempe and she lives her days surviving by finding items in the ocean reefs from the prior world as we know it today. She is not only trying to survive, but she is saving up for the opportunity to speak with her sister who tragically died two years prior and a research facility nearby with the ability to grant such wishes. The Vanishing Deep was a fast paced and emotional story told in a world we could only ever imagine.
