It's not what I expect (in a good way!)

The Vanishing Deep was a really interesting read. It takes place in a dystopian world that is almost entirely underwater. There is a facility that can revive the dead, but only for 24 hours. Enough time to charge grieving family members loads of money so that they can say goodbye.

Tempe plans on going to this facility to revive her dead sister, but not to say goodbye. Her sister was responsible for their parents' death and she wants to know why.

Of course, things aren't so cut and dry as it would seem (if reviving your dead sister for information about your murdered parents seems cut and dry) and Tempe, her sister, and some boys from Palindromena get dragged along on a sea adventure to find the truth behind Tempe's parents' death and Palindromena (the revival facility).

The only thing I didn't like about this book was the ending. It just seemed so sad and wasteful. Also, I feel like there should have been more. It ended in a strange place, and I do not believe there will be a sequel.
