I am not a huge fan of covers with people on them, but this one kind of works because it made me wonder if the story was going to be about someone disappearing in the water or possibly the title refers to vanishing deep within oneself. I like that the cover only has one person and that it's not a full body, theatrical pose. I also like that her makeup was kept simple with just red lipstick. The premise of the story was interesting, which is why I have it on my To Be Read list. The pacing was decent and kept me interested throughout the excerpt. The world building was not as great as what I would have preferred, but it also wasn't the worst which is why I gave an overall score of 4 stars. Good story.
