This was such a fun read from the characters, to the world, to the writing and the pacing of it all. I really loved the concept of a drowned world and being able to have 24 hours with a love one. How the author describes the world I can easily picture everything and it feels almost real.
We get two POV's Tempe and Lor. Tempe is a diver who sister has passed and she wants to know somethings from her sister who she sets out to an underwater town to get 'money' for the revival. Tempe has such a complex relationship with her sister and I really liked that, it wasn't just hate or all love with a few fights. Tempe is such a strong female character and I love her so much.
Lor works in the aquarium, aka the basement on the main island where he deals with dead bodies. Lor experienced something traumatic and he alienate himself from others because of it. He really doesn't interact with many people because of it, but he made a friend who works with him. Lor is such a great character, I just wanted to hug him and give him a cookie.
The book takes place over a fast pace 24 hours and I couldn't put it down.
