Thank you Bookishfirst for giving me the opportunity to read an advance copy of The Vanishing Deep in exchange for an honest review. I love the author's debut novel Four Dead Queens so I had high expectations for this new release. When I read the synopsis I immediately thought of the movie Water World which was a favorite of mine growing up. Now, the world itself definitely reminded me of this movie but the story was quite boring for me until the last quarter of the book and even then it was missing a lot of the action I was hoping for. Her debut novel was more action packed and had a good twist at the end. The twist in this book was not as surprising and I was wanting more. I didn't connect with the characters either. Overall, I enjoyed the underlining message the book was trying to make and the world itself.
