The premise of the world being covered in water is interesting but the 24 hour revival of the dead is even more interesting. I am curious as to how they can revive the dead, not even just for a few minutes, but a full 24 hours at that!
Reading this excerpt reminded me of the movie Water World. So naturally I began to wonder what they drink and what they eat. There was a mention of a Reef Conservatory and an exhange of food for the dead bodies but no more additonal details in this excerpt. Maybe in the book it will be detailed.
Tempe sounds like a very independent girl, which is not surprising given they were orphaned early on and then her sister died. I pity Lor's current predicament, it's a very sad state to be in, the feeling of not deserving anything.
It did not escape my notice that while Tempe loved going under into the waters, Lor loved going up high climbing. I wonder how that will come into play in the story.
