Every time I think I've seen every possible world an artist can create, I read something that feels truly new and unique. Scholte's water world is incredible! She succeeds at making this world repulsive to live in but also mesmerizing.

The changing narrators were easy to follow, even in this short teaser. The writing flows well between setting the scene, dialogue, the narrator's thoughts, and the backstory. The scene was easy to picture despite being strange and otherworldly. I devoured the 50 page teaser easily.

The cover doesn't seem to fully match the story--it's too real, I wish there was a bit of fantasy to the art. Based on the cover, I wasn't expecting a sort of post-apocalyptic story.

I love this story so far, and must know what happens next!! I would definitely buy this book based on my First Impression. What's Elysea's secret???
