My first impression of this novel was that it is highly descriptive. Which is something I love. I want to be so immersed in a story that it’s as if I’m coming back from a long journey, once I’ve finished the book.
I love the idea of the main character Tempest being so bold, diving in deep endless ocean and not being terrified. Surviving the loss of her family and being able to overcome the obstacle of taking care of herself and being on her own.
I can already recognize her as a strong character and not someone that would be considered an “underdog”.
The book stuck out to me as almost being like a reverse Little Mermaid story. Of course in a good way because who doesn’t love the Little Mermaid?
I’m looking forward to seeing how Lor’s character unfolds as the story progresses. As well as who these two main characters will be together once they meet.
