The Vanishing Deep is the story of a land changed forever 500 years ago where billions of people were drowned by “the great waves.” What is left is a world without enough resources and where, for enough money, you can revive a dead person for 24 hours. Tempe wants to bring back her sister, who drowned, as she wants to learn why she killed their parents.
The world described in the story is a creative and different land for any book I have read before and the author brings it into vivid reality for the reader. The characters also come alive on the page and I certainly want to learn what happens as the story unfolds. What happens to the young lady who was convinced to take her friend shift, which most likely will be the one where Tempe brings back her sister. What happens when her sister comes back to life for 24 hours? What other mysteries with the author unveil along the way?
The cover art is gripping also... you are drawn into the eyes of the young woman on the cover and wonder what is with all the water. I cannot wait to read the rest of this book... I am fascinated already!
