It took no time at all to be pulled into this story. It was suspenseful throughout and kept my interest. Loved the setting as well. My dad was in the Vietnam War and so I was able to blend his stories he's told through the years with the story and experienced so many emotions!
Gibby was the most interesting character for me, but there were so many that touched me.
This is a real page-turner, barely allowing me to pause to take a breath because I just couldn't stop reading.
There are many themes in this story and they all mesh together nicely. The characters are strong, believable, sympathetic, and very nicely developed. I've never read anything by this author before, but I will be on the watch for his work.
