I am not a hardcore mystery reader. I do not avidly look for books that have this type of mystery: a killer evading the police and a lone wolf or person connected to the killer trying to piece together clues. This is a cold-stone case with facts and not as narrative or character driven. I prefer the mysteries where we get more of a YA feel of sorts. A high school scared, a girl trying to find things alongside friends or otherwise people, and other stories like this. The reason for this is I do not usually understand the more hard hearted detective character, come to care for them, or really the story because it all just hinges on the killer and not truly their impact or other people's input.
