Gibby's older brother, Jason, just got out of prison and wants to spend time with Gibby. Gibby's mom doesn't want Jason anywhere near Gibby. Gibby's other brother, Robert, died in Vietnam 5 years ago, and his mom has been over-protective. HIs dad is a police officer. Gibby's two weeks away from high school graduation. All of these factors set the stage for a compelling story. Nice tone, a definite feeling of foreboding where I am both nervous about what's going to happen next and I don't want to stop reading.
