The Tubman Command was a very well written novel. It expanded my knowledge of Harriet Tubman and her contributions to the civil war. I was also sad to see how her husband remarried a free woman, leaving Harriet with an unfulfilled longing.
Harriet is a remarkable woman whose legacy is one of bravery and sacrifice. She was an early subscriber to the theme "leave no man (or woman and child) behind" which is threaded through our military today.
Harriet was also unafraid to speak her mind while working in the world of men. She followed the guidance of her Lord through his visions and relied on her internal compass. Something many call our instincts.
She was a force to be reckoned with and I was so happy to ready her story!
