I knew very little about Harriet Tubman before I read "The Tubman Command" by Elizabeth Cobbs. I am impressed with the detail that Ms. Cobbs provided in all areas of that period in time and this would be a good book for all students to read in High School/College when studying the Civil War.
For too long, strong and courageous women have not been written about, appreciated and believed. As a 60 something, I am grateful that the books are now being written for all aged women to applaud and aspire to. Males at a young age must be made aware that women are equals and that it is long overdue.
I learned much about slavery in this book that I was not aware of and it was very painful to read...and never again must that happen to anyone.
Thank you Elizabeth Cobbs for a book that I won't forget anytime soon.
