I've been amazed and shocked by Harriet Tubman's life and escape since I was assigned her for a second grade project. I had no idea the horrors she faced, how daring and courageous her flight was, and how hard it must have been to live that life. I totally forgot how much she interested me until I saw this book and was reminded. This book cover is gorgeous, and the story of the powerful woman within must be equally powerful, and I would love to read and find out more about this woman who had to search deep to find the will to escape.
