The Tubman Command promises to be a great addition to the historical fiction genre. As the title suggests, Harriet Tubman is the main character. The year is 1863 and she is a spy for the Union on St. Helena Island in the low country.
I’m not exactly sure what the plot will entail after reading the first look. We get a little glimpse of Harriet’s past and a little glimpse of her present life in 1863. However, I am confident that this will be a solid novel based on the first look and the author’s credentials as a professor of history at a major university.
