It can be hard to give up things that matter to you. It's even more painful to give up the thing that matters the most - family. Harriett Tubman walked away from her husband and gave her child up to his brother and sister-in-law because of her belief in freedom. She's reflecting back on these things in the preview as the books just peeks into her role in the Underground Railroad. It starts off as a good read, but I imagine it gets even more interesting as it delves into her role as a spy and freedom fighter.
