Not bad...
What I'm assuming was the first chapter of Elizabeth Cobbs' The Tubman Command was a slow burn. Nothing monumental happened. It was more of a character study. In this case, Harriet Tubman.
Already, this book taught me things I didn't previously known like Tubman being married and later betrayed by her husband. Or that she was a spy for the Union. I understand that this is historical Fiction so I'm unsure if these items were fact or not.
All in all, it's a good beginning. Although, Septima's dialect is difficult to understand. I liked the book jacket. It's very regal looking. If I saw it in a bookstore, I would peruse it.
