There are some books that claim to send chills up your spine and then fall short, leaving you wondering if you’ve missed something along the way. Then there are books that as you’re reading them you keep looking over your shoulder expecting something to creep up on you because you’re fully planted in the spooky setting the character has inevitably found themselves in. This book is most certainly the latter.
Full of creepy writing and scary situations, The Taking of Jake Livingston is the perfect book to read when you’re looking to be spooked.
The setting, at a prep school, seriously was genius and adds a lot to the story. It’s also just really fun to plop a character into, what would be to them, a brand new world and then see what happens!
I’ll definitely be searching for a signed copy of this, it was that good! I highly recommend it to anybody who likes ghost stories.
