I absolutely loved this book. Not a book I would have picked up because I hate horror books and movies, but I thought I would give it a try since I fell in love with the cover, and I was definitely not disappointed. This book is a fast paced thriller, and shows the struggles that many POC go through especially if they attend an all white school. The only downside that I didn’t like about this book was that there wasn’t as much detail to Jakes romance, but In a way I can see why the author decided to focus more on the thriller. I found that the writing style was hard to visualize at some points too, and some parts of the book just went unexplained. This book does contain a lot of topics that could be triggering to many reader such as abuse, prejudice, and does contain a school shooting scene, which made me a bit uncomfortable if I’m being completely honest.
