Jake Livingston sees dead people. He is plagued with watching what he calls "death loops" all around him. He's also one of the very few black students at his school and deals with racism every day. Things seem to be going better for Jake until the ghost of Sawyer won't leave him alone; Sawyer was battling mental illness and killed himself after shooting six students at his high school.

I love novels with the representation of BIPOC/LGBTQ+, and was very excited to win a copy of this book! The book was quick-paced and moved along at a good speed. Unfortunately, the character development was almost nonexistent. The relationship between Allistar and Jake seemed rushed and underdeveloped as well. Overall I did enjoy this book, it just wasn't my favorite and some things could have been structured differently that easily would make it a 4 or 5 star read!
