This book has such a creepy premise but it's so well done I was hooked from the summary alone. The pacing was great, and the story was so great that I was immediately drawn right in and couldn't put the book down until I was done - I read it in a single sitting! Jake is the type of character that a reader can't help but root for, and Ryan Douglass did a fantastic job of turning the classic "high school outcast" trope on its head so that it became something readers have never seen before. Not to mention that the cover is absolutely stunning and a complete work of art. Even without reading the summary, I wanted to read this one based on viewing the cover along. The designer deserves an award for it in my opinion.

This is a book I'll be recommending to all my pals who are fans of YA and a little bit of magical/ghosty stuff. And it might even be a book I recommend to people who aren't fans of either - it's just that good!
