The cover of the book was the first thing I found intriguing. I thought the book grabbed my attention from the very beginning and was something different to read. I like how it has ties to modern day social issues such as racism, while tying in paranormal activity. It was great to read something geared towards young adults addressing social issues. It did jump around from character to character a bit, but the story really kept going. I was really interested in Jake's character and as to why he keeps seeing dead people (plus I always enjoy stories set in the South). As a teacher, I would enjoy reading this one for sure. I really felt like I was able to make connections this way.
