Timely YA with a paranormal twist

I feel like this book hits on a lot of hot button issues that are prevalent in our schools today. We have the LGBTQ romance that the blurb alludes to which is so awesome to see popping up more frequently in books. We have racial inequality which again is becoming so wonderfully represented in YA books in particular as of late. We have mental health and see through the eyes and into the psyche of Sawyer Doon, the school shooter who was battling his own demons. Top it all off with a young man who sees ghost and it seems like there is plenty of material to make an engaging read.
