If there was a checklist of all my ideal things in a book, somehow "The Taking of Jake Livingston" got ahold of it and crossed them all off. A YA paranormal book with LGBTQ+ representation that addresses huge and important social topics like racism and school shootings? YES! Add to that some absolutely perfect cover art and you've got a book that I'm just dying (see what I did there?) to get started on. Every preview and teaser just gets me more excited for July 13th!
