This book is quite unique and the pacing is quick enough to suck the reader right in.
This story reminds me a bit of the movie Paranorman, but much much darker. Made for younger young adults, the representation in this book is diverse and important. Jake doesn't mince words about being one of only a few Black kids in his school and how that affects him. That, coupled with the fact that this first look is gearing this going up to be an incredibly wild ride, I feel this book will do incredibly well.
