I like the idea of a YA book about ghosts and hauntings, but I am not sure about The Taking of Jake Livingston. The author could not decide what to focus on in this story and this fact detracted from the book overall. Although I am a little curious to see how Jake is able to navigate his circumstances, I do not think that I would purchase this book.
