I love the paranormal aspect of this book. I mean "I see dead people" is one of the most iconic movie lines so when I read that Jake was a teen who saw dead people I was hooked. Not only does he see dead people but he has to struggle with the high school drama, racist teachers and potentially a romantic relationship. Also, the ghost Sawyer seems like such a troubled kid that it provides another challenge for Jake. This book not only has the main character as a person of color but also has the high school drama, teen angst, paranormal and vengeful ghosts...sign me up!
