This was an exciting first impression read. The concept and layout are very interesting. I am a little concerned about the building of the dead world in this book for Jake. Douglass has to make all ends meet for me to enjoy it. Some parts just seem underexplained such as how Jake seems to live an "ordinary life" but cannot always tell the difference between the real and the dead. I feel as if there needs to be either more distinction of that in his world or the effects of this issue should show up for often. I can't wait to read the rest and find out what happens!
