It wasn't long ago that I read a different YA impression here about jerky white PE teachers being jerks to the non white students, but that one drew me in a little more. I agree with another reviewer who said that this cover felt MG and I'd also say that the prose feels that way too. There's just nothing about this sample that compels me to read more, especially as YA really isn't my favorite category.
