I like the thought of a teenage male medium who struggles to fit in. When being black in a mostly white school isn't challenging enough, the author adds the unpredictability of the supernatural. Jake has a lot to overcome and is having trouble building up that character strength. I hope that as the book progresses he is able to grow so he can succeed in defeating the ghost and succeed in creating a stronger personality.
