Kudos to the cover art: how lovely to convey emotions through portraiture and the expression here got me immediately. Don't judge a book by its cover, you say? Yes, I could be shallow. On the other hand, ghosts and shadow people seem to inhabit this YA novel and that makes me a fan; a Sixth Sense vibe is always welcome, as is escapism, especially in these isolationist times. Just give me an eerie ghost story and this has all the boxes checked. Could a Netflix mini-series be far behind?
