When I saw this book available on a raffle for BookishFirst, I was originally going to swipe right past it. It was not the kind of book I thought I would be interested in, but since I had been in a reading slump, I told myself I would enter the raffle and step outside of my comfort zone.
That decision was a mistake. While I can see why some people might like or love this book, it was definitely not for me. The quirky factor was far too much for me, and while it was fun to learn a little bit about Vancouver through the book, I did not find myself attached to any of the characters. That being said, I did not find myself despising any of the characters either.
For those who like quirky books, or who are unafraid of dipping their toes in the unfamiliar waters outside of their comfort zone, this book might be for you. But, for me it just did not do anything, and I think I will stay in my fantasy genre comfort zone from now on.
