I really don't know what I just read. This was strange from start to finish and the more I read, the less I understood what was happening.
First off, I was a little disappointed that a book that has 'sushi' in the title was written by a white author, but that's just a small issue I had with it.
Right away when I started reading, I knew I didn't like some of the author's word choices. "Hipster chicks" really stuck out to me and rubbed me the wrong way. Then the way the author was able to just throw in the r-word made me almost give up reading.
This might be somebody's cup of tea but it definitely isn't mine.
