I could not get into this book at all. It is more or less impossible to follow. The plot makes no sense, and within five pages there was one ableist slur & one adjective that should be used to describe rugs, not people. I don't care if these things would have been appropriate for the time period in which the book was set - not that I can tell when that is - because they have no place in a book released in 2020.
