The cover is lovely- it pops with color in the foreground but contains shadowy detail in the background. The images of the foreground are somewhat cartoonish while the background reminds me of a botanical atlas. I think this may be reflective of the novel.
Upon first glance you may be distracted by what is on the surface but the real meat is in the under layer. Unfortunately, the surface of the excerpt is repulsive enough (to me) to turn me away from the deeper truths that I suspect the novel holds.
