More feel-good than spiritual
This book has more of a feel-good, self-help, inspirational vibe than what I would call a "deep" devotional. It's very Oprah-esque and relies heavily on anecdotes of the author's lives to convey each day's message rather than being heavily rooted in the Bible. Each day has a single verse at the top, and the calls to action are more about examining yourself and what makes you feel good rather than actually studying the scripture referenced or taking a biblical concept beyond a single verse at face value. If you're looking for something quick to read, this will certainly fit the bill. If you're looking to think about your life just in the context of being happy, this may also fit. If you're looking to learn about applying the Bible to your life in a deeper way beyond the sort of snapshot verses that get put on t-shirts and day-by-day calendars, this may not be for you.
