I have to say, I've heard of Aiden and have been meaning to get around to reading their writing, but the TBR list is long. I have to say though now, wow. I totally get why they are constantly talked about and recommended. Thomas does a great job with world building and fitting it into the plot with ease. I enjoyed how modern elements such as social media were weaved into the world and the cities. The trials themselves were such a highlight. With each trial increasing with intensity, and the stakes getting higher and higher. Thomas does a great job handling such a large cast of characters, and making sure that they are distinct from each other. I enjoyed the mythology and learning about the different gods. Of course, the fluidity of gender and sexuality was a big highlight for me. Also, yes to including body dysphoria. And that ending?! I need the next book yesterday.
