This is such a great excerpt from the Sunbearer Trials. I am not familiar with a lot of Mexican mythology, but I am so intrigued and would love to dive in further to explore it more. This world-building felt so unique and fresh, I am craving more info on the Trials! The characters already show so much promise, and I can't wait to learn more about who they are, and who they will become throughout The Sunbearer Trials! I really appreciate the representation in this novel as well. I admittedly don't read as diversely as I'd like to, and I am SO excited to have found this book which includes such a wide range of perspectives and intersectionality. I am always down for a good competition theme in a book, and this sounds like it might be another great one to add to the collection. The writing is so fun and inviting, and I can't wait to get lost in this world!
