I loved that this book first starts out with a creation story. I think it is also culturally significant. In addition, I squealed with joy when I realized that the main character is trans. I love the way that the author explained the demigods and that the people in the town of Quetzlan had bird companions. I can't wait to read more! The cover is also very attractive and eye-catching!
