A fantasy with queer and trans characters of color? I'm sold! This is the kind of story I wished for growing up and with the first look, I'm already hooked! I love that Teo can communicate with animals. I'm also excited about how the competition will unfold and maybe even discovering why two Jade competitors were chosen now if it's been so long since it happened. Bonus: that cover is beautiful and I can't wait to see it in person!
