The Sunbearer Trials by Aiden Thomas is an entertaining and rich fantasy story. Ever since I read Aiden’s debut, Cemetery Boys, I’ve been looking forward to reading the fantasy worlds he crafts. This Mexican-inspired fantasy is very unique but also grounded in some familiar mythic figures. The main character, Teo, has a strong voice that I think will appeal to many younger readers. Similarly, the cover is eye-catching and beautiful and I think it will fly off of the shelves. I really love all of the green on the cover and glowing gold — the art style is really enchanting and does a good job of capturing the fantasy and magic of the story.
