Fun and full of mythology, I can't wait to read more!
One of my most anticipated reads of the year! As someone who adored Aiden Thomas' debut, Cemetery Boys, I was so excited to pick up another book by them, especially one that was pitched as The Hunger Games meets Percy Jackson (two of my favorite series). I fell in love with this book as soon as I read the synopsis and even more so upon reading the excerpt.
The worldbuilding is incredible, the plot is exciting, and I already love Teo's character. I cannot wait to see how Teo gets chosen for the Sunbearer Trials and the sorts of antics that he gets into. Likewise, I'm really excited to see the Trials play out and to meet the competitors.
And that cover! The cover is so pretty! Between the artwork of Teo and the green and gold coloring, it is just so gorgeous. Even if I was not so enraptured by the plot, I would pick up this book for the cover alone.
