I grabbed this book for it's cover and title. Then regretted my decision (gotta love impulse buys). The cover is completely engaging and the title makes you think "oh no." When I got home I flipped to read what it was about and thought, I paid for it. I may as well read it.
I honestly was expecting a 3 star read. Man was I wrong!
The story was engaging and not easy to immediately guess who did it. The characters were a little flat, but it worked with the plot.
The story is based in Indiana. Since I live in Indiana, it upped the expectations. The setting, like the characters were not extremely built. Again, though it did not take away from the plot. This was truly a plot based book. The author could have set the story anywhere else in the world and with some basic adaptations made it work.
If you are looking for strong, built characters who you can solidly picture and settings that you provide to an artist to detail- put it down.
If you are looking for an engaging, twisted plot, full of mystery and intrigue- grab this ASAP!
