Has promise but will probably lead to disappointment
Charlie Donlea usually has very interesting premises and this one is no different; however, the books usually turn sexist and judgemental (read three of his, happened in all three, won't bother with his others). As a result? I have zero hopes for this one. If only he could learn to write with a modern worldview, he could be great. As it is, he's way back there with a 1980s mentality, still chugging along as if this is the most normal thing in the world. I will say that the quotes that are chosen to go with the book are very well curated, but that's about the best compliment I can give it. If only someone else were to take this premise and write it instead of Donlea - then it might be something I would read.
