I wasn't sold initially, but read through the 3 paragraph summary anyway. I'm glad I did because I think it sells the book a lot better.
As for the first few pages - I dislike the layout immensely. There's way too much empty space, making the font appear smaller and less comfortable to read. The author seems to oscillate between very long sentences and short, repetitive sentences ("He needed to be the first to arrive. He needed to beat the others."). Not my favorite style.
Overall the book seems interesting, but between the formatting and the writing, not something I'd buy.
