The opening of this book is shocking and surprising - a confession of murder and a cold retelling of the last moments of the narrator's brother alongside the railway tracks. The narrative then shifts to more sinister events and then the discovery of a scene of slaughter - I loved the slightly disorientating snippets of narrative that will come together and make sense as the story progresses. An extremely promising start to what looks like a tense and lively story - I want to read more!
