Captivating from the Start!
The cover of the book immediately captured my attention due to the bold splash of red leaves, which initially I mistook for blood splatter. The book starts with a journal entry of a man who admits to killing his brother. The writing style lures the reader in. I WAS HOOKED!!! From there, we go into an account from a man running in the woods with a candle and a few matches, distraught and nervous, recalling rules of a strange game, which then leads to our first introduction to the Westmont Preparatory High School slaughter. Needless to say, I was invested in this story before I even got to Chapter 1!! This book has definitely been added to my TBR.
