A fast-paced thriller focused on finding the truth
A prestigious boarding school is a startling setting for a gruesome murder. Though an obvious suspect is assumed guilty of the crime, more evidence comes to light a year later, in the wake of an unexpected pattern of student suicides. A podcast host, a forensic reconstructions, and others come together to solve the mystery of what really took place the night the two students were murdered.
The premise, setting, and pace of the novel intrigue me. I was eager to read more and learn how the mystery ends. The voice of each character seemed well defined, and I am excited to read more of the book to learn the role that each character will play in solving this mystery. The writing is a bit verbose and at times inhibits the fast pace of the story, which is undoubtedly a page turner. The story in the preface was a bit jarring and it’s unclear how the story plays into the larger plot line, though I assume this will be addressed later on. All in all, I enjoyed this preview and am eager to read the full book!
